One of the issues that I frequently see is incredibly sad to me. In fact, it is one that I dealt with myself many years ago; and many times since.
The parable of the hospital
Let’s say that you went to a hospital. It had the word hospital on the sign out front, there was ER parking, a receptionist, beds, wheelchairs, etc.
Maybe you went there because your child had a high fever, or you had been injured in an accident of some sort, or maybe you had been experiencing chronic symptoms.
However, rather than assigning you a room and a doctor, the hospital says that they can’t handle your issue because it is too serious for them. So they recommend that you go see a specialist; a phycologist, Nutritionist, or some other secular “professional” who does not rely upon the Spirit or Wisdom of God.
Eventually, you learn that if you have anything more than a paper cut or slight scratch, this “facility” that calls itself a “hospital is incapable of helping you. As time unfolds, you realize that they really can’t help you with much at all.
Many churches are really good… unless you really have a need…
That is very much the way many modern “churches” are: Especially if they are a denominational, state-licensed religious institution. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule so praise God if you are aware of one. However I have seen this time, and time, and time again.
Smaller fellowships are sometimes better in this regard. However once “Christianity” became institutionalized in 325 AD, what I have described here has increasingly become the rule rather than the exception.
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof
Apostle Paul addressed this very same issue in his day. In 2 Timothy 3:5, when speaking about those who are not walking in the Word, Spirit, and power of God; Apostle Paul says:
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Yeshua addressed the religious people of His day this way:
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.Mat 23:27 -28
Yeshua is Truth
In John 14:6 Yeshua said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The word “Truth” in this Scripture has its base found in the word “reality”.
It could very well be said that Yeshua is reality. Yeshua is the Word and the Word is Reality.
While churches and hospitals may not be as they appear, you can rest assured that Yeshua is reality and that He can help meet your need in a real and authentic way.
Yeshua doesn’t have a false sign out front that says he can do something that He can’t. He keeps and fulfills His promises.
Yeshua is the ultimate Promise Keeper
While some “churches” may not be as they appear, you can rest assured that Yeshua is reality and that He can help meet your every need in a very, very real and authentic way.
Praise God! What a blessing He is. As the remnant of God you can trust that Yeshua is who He says He is and that He is able to fulfill every promise for your blessing, for the blessing of the Kingdom of God and His glory. Hallelujah!
